UT4Less: Making your UT Austin education more affordable!
Scholarships
Earning scholarships can offset the amount of money you need to borrow. Searching Texas Scholarships, College for All Texans, and FastWeb is a great start. You can also contact your community organizations and corporations for information about scholarship opportunities.
Continue to apply for scholarships even if you were not awarded your freshman year. Check with your academic department and college at UT Austin for scholarship opportunities. Specific college departments are able to award scholarships to their continuing students as continuing students have established a GPA and academic history within that department, critical components when being considered for academically competitive scholarships.

Financial Aid
Students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA by UT Austin's priority filing deadline, March 15, to be considered for the maximum amount of grant and loan funding. Almost all eligible students qualify for some form of financial aid (grants, loans, and work-study), even if their parents earn a high income.
Eligible students include U.S. citizens and permanent residents with proper documentation who complete the FAFSA. In certain cases, students who are residents of Texas, but not U.S. citizens or permanent residents may qualify for aid. Please contact the Office of Student Financial Services for further guidance. As long as such a student is enrolled at least half-time (usually 6 hours in a long term for most undergraduate and graduate students) and is in a degree-seeking program, the student will be eligible for some financial aid based on their FAFSA.
